Presidency's Head of Communications Fahrettin Altun, shared a post on his social media account regarding Israel's year-long attacks on Gaza.

Head of Communications Altun stated the following in his post:

"Today marks one of the darkest chapters in human history!

It’s been one year since the Israeli government has launched its campaign to destroy Gaza and make it an uninhabitable place for millions of Palestinians. The abhorrent crimes they have committed have resulted in more than 50 thousand deaths, many more injured and displaced.

The Israeli occupation has proved to be ever-expanding for many decades now. The Israeli government used the Hamas resistance’s October 7 attacks as an excuse to turn its occupation and ethnic cleansing into full blown genocide.

I send my heartfelt prayers to our Palestinian brothers and sisters who have suffered unimaginable horrors in the past year.

Much of the world has chosen to simply watch this horrific chapter of history, as the sponsors of the Israeli war crimes shamelessly protected the Israeli government at every opportunity.

As Türkiye, we will not remain silent and do everything in our power to stop this madness. We will purse every diplomatic and legal avenue to hold the Israeli government responsible for its crimes in Palestine, Lebanon and beyond.

Once again, our Palestinian brothers and sisters have borne utter destruction and an attempt at total extermination over the past year. We pray for them all the time and we will never leave them alone.

Palestine will be free!"
