Haravgi and other newspapers reported that, in a letter sent to the “National Federation of Cypriots in the UK,” the Foreign Office affirmed its continued commitment to “a just and lasting solution to the Cyprus problem” and its ongoing support for the UN’s efforts.

The reports noted that the organisation occasionally sends letters to British officials, and that in its response to the latest letter, the Foreign Office underlined that the guarantor state, the UK, had participated in the UN Secretary-General’s two informal 5+1 meetings and “eagerly looks forward to taking part in new discussions.”

The letter also stated that contact with all sides would continue and expressed appreciation for those supporting the peace process, stressing the importance of maintaining open and constructive dialogue.
