According to several newspapers including Haravgi, a spokesperson for Israeli company New Med Energy, one of the companies responsible for the management of the Afrodite gas field in Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone, announced yesterday to Reuters news agency that the Afrodite gas field will be connected to undersea pipelines to facilities in Egypt.

Meanwhile, the Israeli economics newspaper Globes also published a story on the company's decision, claiming that the revised management plan for the Afrodite gas field was approved without any settlement being reached on the Issai field between Cyprus and Israel. The report also suggested that the Israel's share of the field might be sold to one of the companies licensed in Cyprus.

Yossi Abu, CEO of New Med Energy, meanwhile emphasized that their regional relationships had paved the way for new collaborations in infrastructure as well as at a regional and international level. He also added that these collaborations would enable them to supply natural gas to every corner of the world. Therefore, they will immediately implement their plan to use the Afrodite gas field.
