Prescription Fraud Case in Northern Cyprus Sparks Attention in South Cyprus

The prescription fraud case, which has had a significant impact in Northern Cyprus, has also prompted action from the authorities in South Cyprus. The Cyprus Police Department and the Cyprus Customs Department have reportedly closely monitored the prescription fraud issue.

In addition to Northern Cyprus, where the prescription fraud case has caused a great stir and is considered one of the largest corruption cases in history, it has also prompted action from officials in South Cyprus.
Sources that reached Kıbrıs Postası reported that the prescription fraud issue has been closely monitored by the Cyprus Police Department and the Cyprus Customs Department.
Moreover, within the scope of the investigation, a total of 6 individuals, including 3 doctors and 3 pharmacists, have been arrested so far.
In a recent court appearance, suspects Dr. Niyazi Perk, Muhammed Alshanableh, Pharmacist İsmet Tufan, and Pharmacist Simge Sonap were remanded in custody for 3 days as part of the investigation. Dr. Güven Erkal and Pharmacist Gülten Veli, who appeared before the judge later in the day, will be detained for 2 days as part of the investigation.
It is expected that the detained suspects will appear in court again on Monday regarding this matter.
