Deputy Minister of Budget, Fevzi Lakca, stated in a local press briefing that starting this month, the government intends to distribute 2,500 dirhams (approximately $250) per month to every family impacted by the earthquake.

Lakca further explained that homeowners whose houses were destroyed in the earthquake would receive 140,000 dirhams (around $14,000), while 80,000 dirhams (about $8,000) would be allocated for the restoration of partially damaged houses. The budget set aside for earthquake victims is approximately 8 billion dirhams (around $800,000).

It was revealed that the earthquake affected 2.8 million people in the country, equivalent to two-thirds of the population in the affected regions. The total number of collapsed houses has reached 59,675, with 32% of them being completely destroyed, and the rest suffering partial damage.

On September 8, Morocco experienced a magnitude 7 earthquake with its epicenter in the El-Huz region, near the city of Marrakech. The earthquake resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives and left 6,125 individuals injured.
