Electricity Tariffs Increased by 7%

As of December 1, 2023, KIB-TEK (Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority) has implemented a 7% increase in electricity tariffs. The increase affects both single-rate and three-rate tariffs. The new tariff rates will be applicable starting tomorrow.

According to the tariff table shared by the authority, there is no increase in the "poverty exemption" residential tariff. However, prices for single and three-rate residential, commercial, industrial, tourism, water motors, street lights, defense, government offices, foundations, universities, and casinos tariffs have increased.

In the single-rate tariff, the residential tariff for 0-250 kWh has risen from 2.5199 TL to 2.6963 TL; 251-500 kWh residential tariff increased from 5.1986 TL to 5.5625 TL; 501-750 kWh residential tariff rose from 5.5897 TL to 5.9810 TL; 751-1000 kWh residential tariff increased from 6.0590 TL to 6.4831 TL, and over 1000 kWh increased from 7.2321 TL to 7.7383 TL. In the single-rate tariff, the government office tariff increased from 17.1448 TL to 17.5963 TL, university tariff increased from 5.1986 TL to 5.5625 TL, and casino tariff increased from 6.4498 TL to 6.9013 TL.

In the three-rate residential tariff, fees during peak hours (between 17:00 and 22:00) increased from 7.1919 TL to 7.6952 TL; during normal hours (between 07:00 and 17:00), it rose from 5.1987 TL to 5.5625 TL, and during off-peak hours (between 22:00 and 07:00), it increased from 3.4270 TL to 3.6668 TL.

It's worth noting that electricity prices were increased by 15% last month.
