The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a written statement regarding the "ruined building area known as Neriman's house."

The statement pointed out that the Greek side has been trying to spread lies, false, and baseless news through the press in recent days, claiming that the TRNC's aim is to increase tension on the island. It also mentioned the necessity of making this statement with the understanding of conveying accurate information to the public in the light of these false and defamatory news that have the potential to disturb the peace of the people.

The statement emphasized that the vacant building known as "Neriman's house" located west of the Metehan Border Gate in Nicosia is within the territory of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It was stated that the Greek Cypriot Administration has been engaging in provocative activities for a long time by installing projectors and cameras on the guard posts across from the aforementioned building and acting with the misconception that such actions could disrupt the status of the buffer zone.

"WE WILL NOT ALLOW ANY VIOLATION AGAINST THE TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF THE TRNC"

The statement continued with the following expressions:

"The activities of the Greek side are being monitored, and the necessary protests are made to the UN; both by our military and civilian authorities. Despite all the warnings, it was necessary to take the necessary measures within the territory of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in accordance with the principle of reciprocity due to the continuation of these activities by the Greek side.

We would like to share with the public that we will not allow any violation against the territorial integrity of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and any fait accompli. We remind that the continuation of peace and security in the region may be possible if the Greek Cypriot Administration ends its provocative actions and emphasize that we will continue to do our part for the peace and security on the island."
