Claims of Violating Sanctions in the South; U.S. Experts Coming to Investigate
In an effort to investigate allegations of violations of sanctions imposed by the EU on Russian citizens and companies due to the Ukraine-Russia war, a team of experts, including individuals from the United States, will be visiting South Cyprus.

The newspaper reported that an international investigation known as "Cyprus Confidential" revealed allegations that Russian citizens in South Cyprus obtained residency and citizenship by abusing the existing system through law and accounting firms. To restore South Cyprus's international reputation, the article emphasized that collaboration with the United States, particularly with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen), will be pursued.
According to the news, a team of 24 individuals, including officials from the FBI and FinCen, will visit South Cyprus to support Cypriot authorities in investigating 29 pending cases related to Russian citizens.
