Erdoğan: Resolution of the Cyprus Issue Will Benefit the Entire Region
During a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the importance of resolving the Cyprus issue through a fair, permanent, and sustainable solution based on the realities of the island. Erdoğan stated that such a resolution would be beneficial for the entire region.
Erdoğan expressed a desire to address existing problems through constructive dialogue, good neighborly relations, and collaborative efforts within the framework of international law. The leaders discussed their positions in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, urging their foreign ministers to engage in discussions on the matter.
The Turkish President highlighted the significance of preventing the establishment of camps similar to the Lavrion Camp in Greece, which provided shelter to terrorists. Additionally, Erdoğan commented on the situation in Gaza, expressing concern over the collective punishment of the Gaza population and the killing of thousands of innocent Palestinian civilians.
Erdoğan emphasized that there are no unsolvable issues between Turkey and Greece, calling for a focus on the bigger picture. He expressed the mutual goal of turning the Aegean into a sea of peace and cooperation, setting an example for the world through joint steps taken by Turkey and Greece.
