Tatar: The Turkish Cypriot People and the Turkish People are Inseparable Parts of a Whole

According to the information provided by the Presidency, the award was received on behalf of President Tatar by the TRNC Consul General in Mersin, Zalihe Mendeli, at the award ceremony held at the Adana Yuregir Cultural Center.

In a written message sent as he couldn't attend the award ceremony, President Tatar used the following expressions:

"Since the first day I took office as the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, I have been making great efforts to develop good relations with the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish people. The interest, love, and hospitality I encountered while traveling across Anatolia for this purpose make me very happy.

In my eyes and in the eyes of my people, the Turkish Cypriot people and the Turkish people are inseparable parts of a whole.

Despite all the oppression and attempted genocide in Cyprus, the Turkish Cypriot people managed to preserve their Turkish identity, and with the 1974 Peace Operation, carried out using their guarantor rights, brought peace to the island. I hope that relations between the Turkish Republic, which has completed its 100th year, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which has completed its 40th year, will continue to be strong forever, and that new projects will be signed in the new Turkish century that will make a sound in both the Blue Homeland and the international arena, and that the thesis of the independent existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as two separate states will be accepted in the international arena, especially by the Turkish States Organization.

With these feelings and thoughts, I sincerely thank you for the "Honorary Award of the Year" awarded to me, and I wish the continuation of your successful work."
