Asım Akansoy, General Secretary of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), emphasized that the ongoing investigation into the fake diploma scandal has widened to encompass senior bureaucrats and politicians, stating, "This incident is an important indicator of the corruption we are currently facing."

In a post on social media, Asım Akansoy made the following assessment:

"Of course, within the framework of the presumption of innocence, it is necessary to be cautious and await the completion of the investigation and the decision of the judiciary.

As this continues, it has become apparent that the committee established in the Assembly to oversee YÖDAK (Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council) and higher education institutions, with the recommendation of the CTP, should diligently and extensively continue its work. At the same time, it has emerged that the investigation conducted by the judicial authorities should cover a wider scope.

We, who have been vocal about the fact that the state's supervisory mechanisms are not working effectively, the necessary supervisory will is not being demonstrated, and that issues that everyone in society knows and talks about need to be addressed, will continue to carefully monitor the process, make necessary warnings, and take political stances within the framework of public interest."

"We WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT FOR A MORE EFFECTIVE STRUCTURE FOR YÖDAK"

"In particular, I would like to emphasize that we will make every effort for the improvement of YÖDAK and the Ministry of Education to fulfill their authorities, duties, and responsibilities, for the correction of relations between the two institutions, and especially for YÖDAK to be transformed into a more effective structure..."
