Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, as well as Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı, convened with Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the Presidential Complex. Ünal Üstel stated, "Since the formation of our government, we have been conducting our relations with the Motherland Turkey based on mutual love, respect, trust, and cooperation at the highest level. In our visit, we once again reaffirmed the unshakeable bonds between the TRNC and Turkey. The clear support extended by Turkey to our people and government has pleased us."

During the meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation between Turkey and the TRNC, Üstel highlighted that they had the opportunity to discuss ongoing projects contributing to the country's development across various different sectors. He stated, "In our highly productive meeting, which lasted for over 2 hours, we evaluated the political and economic developments between our countries in all dimensions."

"CITRUS GROWERS' GRIEVANCES WILL BE RESOLVED WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE TECHNICAL TEAM'S WORK FROM TURKEY"

Üstel remarked, "During our meeting, in addition to the efforts made regarding the citrus issue experienced in our country this year, we have also agreed on taking further steps." He emphasized that with the completion of the work of technical teams expected to arrive on the island shortly, the grievances of citrus growers will be addressed. Ünal Üstel's full statement reads as follows:

"At the same time, we have reached a consensus on the construction of a 40,000-ton cold storage facility in the Güzelyurt Region to prevent the recurrence of the difficulties experienced this year.

Furthermore, the generous Turkish Republic government, who has stood by our side in every bad day, has pledged full support to address the grievances of the Geçitköy residents affected by this year's flood disaster. I extend my thanks to them on behalf of our people.

We had already indicated that we would take extremely important and visionary steps towards our country's development in 2024. Feeling Turkey's support in implementing these projects is crucial. It is evident that besides project and finance, political stability is the most fundamental element for the realization of these projects. On this matter, we are in full agreement. We continue our path with stability. Our greatest goal is to realize all the projects we have set forth by the year 2027, when elections will be held.

On this occasion, I extend my thanks to Turkish Vice President Mr. Cevdet Yılmaz for their hospitality."
