YÖK: We Will Support the International Recognition of TRNC Universities

Turkey's Higher Education Board (YÖK) announced that they will provide necessary support to enhance the quality of higher education to contribute to the international recognition of TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) universities.

A delegation from Turkey's Higher Education Board, led by Vice President Prof. Dr. Haldun Göktaş, made a visit to TRNC for technical discussions with the Higher Education Planning, Inspection, Accreditation, and Coordination Board (YÖDAK).

According to a written statement from YÖK, the delegation was received by President Ersin Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu. During meetings with Prime Ministerial authorities, the newly appointed YÖDAK President Aykut Hoca, YÖDAK Board members, and university rectors in TRNC, discussions focused on utilizing the experience and knowledge of the Higher Education Board to enhance the quality of education in TRNC.

The Higher Education Board stated its commitment to providing necessary support for improving the quality of higher education that contributes to the international recognition of TRNC and its universities. In this regard, YÖK will provide technical support to YÖDAK for updating its infrastructure, establishing quality assurance systems, improving IT infrastructure, and elevating the higher education system to a better level. YÖK will also share its knowledge and expertise with TRNC to achieve these goals.
