Victor Boniface put Leverkusen ahead 1-0 in the 25th minute by converting a penalty kick. Granit Xhaka extended the lead to 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Florian Wirtz completed a hat-trick in the 68th, 83rd, and 89th minutes, sealing the championship.

With this victory, Bayer Leverkusen increased their points to 79, opening up a 16-point gap over their closest rival Bayern Munich and clinching the Bundesliga title.

Xabi Alonso's team ended Bayern Munich's streak of 11 consecutive Bundesliga titles. The last team outside Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund to win the Bundesliga was Wolfsburg in the 2008/2009 season.

This triumph marks the first Bundesliga title in Bayer Leverkusen's history.

Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten streak now stands at 43 matches, equaling Juventus's record of 43 consecutive undefeated matches across all competitions since 2000 in Europe's top 10 leagues.
