Meat and meat product operators (butchers) reported that a decision had been made to demand the withdrawal of the decree on meat prices, alleging that it was made "unilaterally."

According to the information provided by KTEZO (Meat and Meat Products Operators Union), butchers convened a meeting. During the meeting, the demand for the "immediate withdrawal of the unilateral decree" was unanimously approved, and a decision was made regarding the "controlled and registered import of meat, which is currently being imported through unauthorized and unrecorded channels."

Hürrem Tulga, the General Coordinator of KTEZO, made the opening speech at the meeting. Then, Halil Akbıçak, the President of the Butchers' Association, spoke. Butchers also voiced their criticisms and suggestions during the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, 5 draft decisions were approved, and a General Assembly decision was made within the framework of the KTEZO Law. A temporary board of directors was also established to manage the process.

In his opening speech, Hürrem Tulga expressed his criticisms of the decree. Tulga stated that butchers are craftsmen and would never accept being blamed as the "reason for high prices," accusing the government of pointing fingers and evading responsibility by misleading. He noted that with the recent decision regarding meat prices, craftsmen who were already struggling were further hit, especially during the holiday season.

Tulga emphasized the need for self-criticism, acknowledging the lack of solidarity and organization. He stressed that developing organization should be a priority and called for the formalization of meat imports, insisting that it should be controlled and recorded. He also stated that their union, cooperatives, and butchers are ready to take on this responsibility and oversee the process.
