Speaking at a press conference after the first-day sessions of the extraordinary EU leaders' summit in Brussels, Michel highlighted a strategic discussion among EU leaders regarding Turkey and noted that all leaders agreed on relations with Turkey.

"We want to establish a positive relationship with Turkey. We seek to develop stable relations with this country and work on a gradual, proportionate, and reversible approach. I want to emphasize here the importance of the situation in Cyprus, especially the UN-led peace process," Michel affirmed.

Michel also announced that EU leaders agreed to impose new sanctions on Iran's unmanned aerial vehicle and missile producers due to Iran's attacks on Israel. "We have decided to impose sanctions against Iran. This is a clear signal we want to send," Michel emphasized, stating their aim to work with regional countries to isolate Iran and reduce tension in the region.

Regarding Ukraine, Michel highlighted EU leaders' unanimous support for President Volodymyr Zelensky's message and stressed the need for increased defense capabilities and ammunition for Ukraine. "Member states, especially those with specific capacities, are aware of the situation's importance and Ukraine's need for more air defense systems and ammunition. We have had quite serious discussions on this matter," he said.

Michel also discussed plans for a peace formula for Ukraine, mentioning an upcoming meeting in Switzerland in June. "There is a meeting expected to take place in Switzerland in June. This is a good thing, and we want to engage with the international community and all countries on this issue," he concluded.
