Amcaoğlu: TRNC Economy is Being Managed Much Better Than it Should be

Minister Amcaoğlu, in a statement through the ministry's press office, reminded that the government's implementation of a price ceiling on lamb meat prices was a well-intentioned measure implemented with consideration for the people's livelihoods.

He also noted that they understand the reactions of butchers to the implementation and emphasized that claims of coercion regarding the signing of agreements by the Butchers' Association regarding the price ceiling are baseless.

Minister Amcaoğlu stated, "Claims that the economy, especially regarding fuel prices, is poorly managed in this country are definitely not true," and further expressed:

"I mentioned this in the recent parliamentary session. Let's talk with figures. Diesel, for example, purchased from international markets with international currency in Turkey, is around 45 TL per liter, while it is around 36 TL here and around 54 TL in the south. A 10-kilogram LPG cylinder purchased from Tüpraş in Kocaeli, Turkey, and brought to this country after paying freight costs, is priced at 445 TL in the TRNC, 606 TL in Turkey, and 587 TL in the south. Where are the figures suggesting poor management? Let's talk with figures. Despite all kinds of negative impacts of global economic difficulties, this country's economy is being managed much better than it should be."
