High-Level Meeting on IPC Held at the Presidency

A high-level meeting was convened at the Presidency today with the participation of senior officials to discuss the functioning and latest developments of the Immovable Property Commission.

According to information provided by the Presidency, the meeting was attended by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu, Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Major General Sebahattin Kılınç, Commander of the Security Forces Major General Osman Aytaç, Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Chief Public Prosecutor Sarper Altıncık, IPC President Növber Ferit Veçhi, and other senior officials.

Növber Ferit Veçhi, the President of the Immovable Property Commission, provided the attendees with updated information on the Commission's work and activities since its establishment as a domestic legal remedy recognized by international law on March 17, 2006.

President Ersin Tatar, in his remarks during the meeting, emphasized the significant achievements of the Immovable Property Commission and highlighted the rapid evaluation and conclusion of applications. He underscored the importance of commencing payments for properties evaluated by the end of 2020.

President Tatar expressed the expectation of increased applications to the Immovable Property Commission, emphasizing that this effective domestic legal remedy is the only way to address property issues related to Cyprus.
