CTP MP Criticizes Government's Approach to Minimum Wage

CTP Member of Parliament Sıla Usar İncirli criticized the government's attitude towards minimum wage, stating, "The mindset that thinks it governs the country presents current salaries to people as if it's a favor." In her assessment of the minimum wage, Usar İncirli highlighted the disruption in markets due to the government's vague statements about the cost of living.

Emphasizing the importance of an increase in the minimum wage, İncirli pointed out that citizens' purchasing power is insufficient compared to the current inflation rate.

"The mindset that thinks it governs the country presents current salaries to people as if it's a favor," remarked İncirli, stating that the rights of workers and employees are being ignored.

İncirli stated that the government has the tools to control the cost of living, adding, "The government should realize that when the minimum wage increases, the cost of living will also increase."

İncirli questioned the effectiveness of visiting workplaces with fancy words on May 1st, emphasizing that this alone will not provide a solution. She asked, "Do you realize the risks faced by labor in this country?"

Regarding the confusion in the data on the cost of living, İncirli noted that there is a lack of trust in the results and any steps taken, stating, "They do not have a mindset to reveal the truths and confront them."

Highlighting the serious political and economic crises facing the country, İncirli emphasized the need for every institution to perform its duties with dedication.
