In an exclusive statement to the Turkish News Agency Cyprus (TAK) concerning the protest now in its fifth day, Naimoğulları noted that the vehicle-based protest that began last Monday in Nicosia is ongoing. He mentioned that he called a board meeting this morning and will also meet with unions during the day.

Naimoğulları stated that today's meetings would focus on preparing for the general strike and protest planned for Monday. He indicated that their reactions intensified following the statements made by the Prime Minister and the Agriculture Minister yesterday. Naimoğulları claimed, "The Agriculture Minister and the Prime Minister are unwilling to back down to prevent the government from collapsing or encountering difficulties, and they are trying to deceive the public. Otherwise, the government will face trouble, but they have sacrificed the producers."

Naimoğulları reiterated that the decision for a general strike on Monday remains in place, and today's meeting will determine "what form the protest will take."

The Livestock Producers and Breeders Association began a vehicle-based protest in Nicosia on Monday to protest the government's livestock policies and the decision to import meat. The protest is still ongoing in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
