Turkey’s Top Leadership to Mark the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Operation in Northern Cyprus
In a grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, cabinet members, political party representatives, and numerous MPs will be attending the events in Northern Cyprus.
According to information obtained by Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is preparing for a spectacular celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation.
Commemorative Events and Activities
The celebration will feature a variety of events, including band and Mehteran unit concerts, sports competitions, conferences, seminars, symposiums, and essay competitions. Turkey’s first aircraft carrier, TCG Anadolu, will also participate in the ceremony in TRNC. TCG Anadolu, along with numerous other ships, will take part in a parade.
As part of the celebrations, the Turkish Stars and SOLOTÜRK aerobatic teams are scheduled to perform on July 20th.
State Officials in TRNC
President Erdoğan, Speaker Kurtulmuş, cabinet members, political party representatives, and a large number of MPs will be present in TRNC for the celebrations. Kurtulmuş will be accompanied by members of the Parliamentary Presidency Council and Group Deputy Chairpersons.
CHP leader Özgür Özel, along with 174 Cyprus veterans, Central Executive Board members, and numerous MPs, will also participate in the events. Special guests include Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güneş Ayata, the daughter of the then Foreign Minister Turan Güneş, and former Labor Minister Önder Sav, both of whom will be attending at Özel’s invitation.
Additionally, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, DSP leader Önder Aksakal, and BBP leader Mustafa Destici will join President Erdoğan in TRNC for the celebrations.
