Lost Check Gifted to Couple at Famagusta Wedding
Suphi Değer, a resident who lost a check in his name about a month ago, recently discovered that it had been gifted to a bride and groom at a wedding in Famagusta. Değer shared the unusual incident on his social media, highlighting his initial carelessness in losing the check and expressing concern over the situation in the country.
Değer explained that although he believed the check, made out in his name, could not be cashed by anyone, a friend advised him to report it to the police and bank. Following this advice, he filed a report, and yesterday, his lost check was found.
In his social media post, Değer shared the following:
"The state of our country!
About a month ago, I lost a check issued in my name due to my own carelessness. Even though I thought no one could cash it since it was written to me, a friend advised me to file a report with the police and bank, which I did. Yesterday, I found out what happened to my lost check.
The person who found it gave it as a gift at a wedding in Famagusta. The couple later went to the bank to cash the check, but they were informed that 'the check is blacklisted.' This situation is truly alarming..."
