Erhürman Responds to Üstel: “A Tragicomedy, Lying Blatantly to the Press”
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Tufan Erhürman criticized Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's recent statements in Parliament, calling them "tragicomical" and accusing Üstel of lying "blatantly in front of the press."
Speaking in the courtyard of the Parliament, Erhürman specifically refuted Üstel's claim that Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre had been "ill" the previous night, describing it as false. He provided examples to back his claims, stating that Töre was not ill, as Üstel had implied.
Erhürman explained that, on the previous night, Töre had rejected Üstel's request to convene the Advisory Council, despite Üstel's signature on the request. Furthermore, he emphasized that Töre had stayed in Parliament until midnight and was not suffering from any health issues.
"Töre was in Parliament until midnight and was not unwell at all," Erhürman said. "And I'll go one step further to prove it: Why else would they ask Ersin Tatar to cut his visit short and return today?"
