CTP MP Ongun Talat Criticizes UBP Amidst Ongoing Crisis: "Out of Touch with Reality"
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) MP Ongun Talat has sharply criticized the National Unity Party (UBP) MPs, stating that they have become disconnected from reality during the ongoing political crisis.
Talat suggested that UBP MPs believe they can involve the Parliament in their internal conflict and then continue without any issues, failing to foresee the public's growing demand for early elections.
Talat pointed out that a group of MPs who fear early elections would never behave so recklessly. In a social media post, he remarked:
"My personal observation from the crisis that has been unfolding since the start of the week is that UBP MPs have become so detached from reality that they thought they could drag Parliament into their internal war and then carry on as if nothing had happened. They didn’t foresee the spike in public demand for early elections.
A group of MPs terrified of early elections would never have engaged in such recklessness.
Now, they are all lingering in the corridors, unsure of how to resolve this crisis. But what they have yet to realize is that even if the parliamentary speaker crisis is somehow resolved, for instance, if Mr. Zorlu suddenly recovers and returns on the condition of retaining the speakership...
The reality remains unchanged – this WEAK, COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT-LIKE STRUCTURE has become unsustainable.
This crisis is just the tip of the iceberg. More crises await them... Hence, the immediate call for #EarlyElections... Only #ElectionsCanCleanThisUp."
Talat's remarks highlight growing tensions within the UBP and a broader dissatisfaction with the current government's ability to manage the political landscape.
