According to police reports, at approximately 10:00 PM on October 10, Yaşar ŞAHİN (54) lost control of his vehicle, a GH 373 plate, in Sipahi due to inattentiveness. The car veered off the road, struck an earth embankment, and overturned, coming to rest on its roof. Both ŞAHİN and his passenger, Mustafa Mert ŞAHİN (13), were treated at Famagusta State Hospital and later discharged. An investigation is ongoing.
Drunk Driver Crashes into Parked Cars in Famagusta
At around 12:30 AM on October 11, Uğur YAKAR (38), driving a VA 479 plate vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 149 mg, lost control while driving in Famagusta and collided with two parked cars. Fortunately, there were no injuries, but legal action has been initiated against YAKAR, and the investigation is still underway.
Chain Reaction Accident in Nicosia
On the same day, at approximately 1:30 AM, Oğuzhan ÇİTİL (25), while driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of 213 mg, ran a red light and collided with a GE 140 plate vehicle driven by Vedat ALTINDAĞ (46) in Nicosia. The impact caused ÇİTİL's vehicle to hit another car. Passengers Uğurcan KILIÇ, Vedat ALTINDAĞ, and Yunus Emre TURAN were injured and are receiving treatment at Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital. Oğuzhan ÇİTİL has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
Vehicle Overturns in Famagusta
Later that night, around 2:00 AM, İbrahim Enes KEKEÇ (21) lost control of his GD 103 plate vehicle in Famagusta, hitting the sidewalk and a shop before overturning. No injuries were reported, but legal action has been initiated against KEKEÇ, and the investigation continues.
