Töre Respects Attorney General's Opinion and Party's Decision
Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre stated that he respects the opinion of the Attorney General’s Office and his party’s decision to proceed with another candidate following his defeat in the parliamentary election process.
Töre revealed that despite being hospitalized due to high blood pressure and advised by doctors to avoid stress, he returned to parliament to ensure the deadline of October 10 was met.
Töre highlighted the disputes surrounding the results after the fifth round of voting, noting his objection to the "lost" remark on the tally sheet and his subsequent appeal to the Attorney General. While acknowledging that Parliament holds the authority in this matter, Töre emphasized that he would step aside and respect the decision of his party, the UBP, to nominate a new candidate, choosing not to complicate the process further.
