The session started with the prosecution presenting its requests, calling for the continued detention of the defendants. The plaintiffs were then asked if they had any objections.

One of the mothers, Pervin Aksoy İpekçioğlu, addressed the court, emphasizing the gravity of the collapse: “The building collapsed, becoming a grave for 72 people. We are struggling to understand who is responsible,” she said. Ipekçioğlu highlighted several key issues, including discrepancies in the building's licensing process, the addition of illegal floors, and structural weaknesses such as poor concrete quality and irregular spacing of reinforcement bars.

"Seeking Justice Instead of Gifts"

A mother of one of the tour guides who perished in the collapse expressed her grief, noting that today would have been her son's 25th birthday. “Instead of looking for a gift for my son, I am here seeking justice,” she told the court.

"I Want Justice"

Another mother, Sibel Kumsal, whose daughter died in the collapse, shared her pain, saying, “I am staying in a hotel too, but one that hasn’t collapsed. I came here, and I can’t sleep. I want justice.”

The case continues, with the families of the victims calling for accountability and justice for their loved ones.
