Police officer Fadıl Metin, who is part of the Narcotics Unit, presented the case in court. He explained that, on October 18, they received information indicating that Ismail and a friend were involved in drug dealing. Acting on this tip, the police observed the suspects driving on Gönyeli Boulevard around 4:00 p.m. When police stopped the vehicle, the suspects fled on foot. Ismail was apprehended 300 meters away after a brief chase, but his companion managed to escape.

Drugs and Cash Found at Suspect's Residence

Officer Metin testified that, during a search of the suspects' vehicle, three mobile phones were found, one belonging to Ismail and the others to the fugitive suspect. When asked for his residence, Ismail refused to cooperate, but police were able to locate his home in Nicosia. Upon arrival, they found the door to Ismail’s bedroom locked. After obtaining a key, officers entered the room, where they discovered 300 grams of cannabis, 30 grams of cocaine, and three precision scales believed to have drug residue on them.

Additionally, a safe was found in the bedroom, which was opened with a key recovered during the search. Inside, police found 2 grams of cocaine and 87,000 TL and 50 Euros, believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

Three Suspects Still at Large

The police also recovered a grinder used for processing drugs and foil packaging materials. Officer Metin further reported that they found an ID and driver's license belonging to another wanted individual inside Ismail’s room. Initial checks revealed that this person is currently abroad.

The court had previously granted the police a three-day extension to hold Ismail, during which the seized substances were sent for analysis, and the scales were sent for fingerprint examination. Officer Metin informed the court that three suspects are still at large, and the examination of the suspects' mobile phones is ongoing. He requested an additional eight days to complete the investigation.

Judge Nuray Necdet granted the request, ordering that Ismail remain in custody for eight more days.
