Karavezirler: Traffic Flow at the Airport Will Be Eased

According to information provided by the municipality, Değirmenlik Akıncılar Municipality has been authorized by the Council of Ministers to carry out traffic regulation work at Ercan Airport.

Following meetings with officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Highways Department, the Planning and Construction Department, the Civil Aviation Department, and T&T Ercan Airport Management, Mayor Karavezirler also met with representatives of Cyprus Airports Services Ltd. (KIBHAS) and the Ercan Taxi Drivers Union. He emphasized that the municipality is working intensively to resolve the traffic issues at the airport and is taking into account the feedback and requests from all stakeholders.

Karavezirler noted that the aim is to ease traffic flow and enhance safety at the airport, with measures to eliminate chaos being implemented in the short term. He added that the first stage involves designating bus and taxi stops, ensuring that the flow operates smoothly, and having municipal police officers on-site to monitor the area. Additionally, he stressed that vehicles will no longer be allowed to park in front of the airport to wait for passengers.
