Fire in Haspolat Apartment: Derrick Bamfo Ampomah Dies
A fire broke out in the entrance of a two-story apartment building in Haspolat, leading to the death of Derrick Bamfo Ampomah and injuries to Jonathan Maukle Adjabeng.
According to information from the police press office, the fire occurred around 3:00 AM due to an as-yet undetermined cause in the stairwell of the apartment.
The fire damaged various belongings stored in the stairwell, including suitcases filled with clothes, two generators, security camera wires, ten electrical circuit breakers, an electrical panel, and a gas cylinder. The smoke and heat from the fire caused significant soot damage to the apartment's walls, while firefighting teams that arrived at the scene managed to control the blaze.
The affected residents, Derrick Bamfo Ampomah (aged 24) and Jonathan Maukle Adjabeng (aged 24), were taken to Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital. Unfortunately, Derrick Bamfo Ampomah succumbed to his injuries, while Jonathan Maukle Adjabeng is currently under observation in the surgical department. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
