Horizontal Transition Period Extended to One Year Starting in January
Minister of Labor and Social Security, Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, announced that starting from January, the horizontal transition period for workers will be extended from six months to one year. He also stated that exceptions would be made in cases of unpaid salaries or job shortages.
Gardiyanoğlu explained that the new transition period, effective from January, will have certain criteria.
He added that if an employer has failed to pay an employee's salary for three months, has not made necessary investments, or has suspended the employee due to a lack of work, the employee could transition to another job before the one-year period. However, if all criteria are met, an employee cannot transition to another workplace within a year.
Gardiyanoğlu emphasized that workers would not be allowed to change jobs within a shorter period if all conditions are met at the current workplace.
