Zeki Çeler: "This Country Needs More Than Two Parties"
Leader of the Communal Democracy Party (TDP), Zeki Çeler, issued a strong critique of the political and economic crises facing the country through a statement on social media. Calling for early elections once again, Çeler criticized both the current government and the opposition for failing to address pressing issues.
Highlighting problems such as infants being poisoned by contaminated baby formula, rising costs of living, and the country having some of the highest food prices in the world, Çeler accused the government of being preoccupied with "pointless power struggles." He stated: “In a climate of economic, legal, and political crises, creating meaningless disputes and developing solutions that make people ask, ‘What was all the fighting for?’—how will this be explained to the public?”
Çeler also criticized the opposition, claiming that Parliament has lost its connection with citizens and is failing to take actions in the nation’s interest. “The major parties have found ways to delay early elections. However, what this country needs is not an opposition that stirs up storms over superficial issues while remaining silent on core problems,” he said.
