Akansoy: CTP Will Deliver the Change People Need

Addressing issues ranging from the government's internal dynamics to the economic crisis, relations with Turkey, and the Cyprus issue, Akansoy reiterated his call for early elections, emphasizing that the current government’s condition is unsustainable.

"The Government Is Ineffective"

Akansoy criticized the government, citing a lack of coordination and determination, and described it as disorganized. “There is significant disarray within the government. Disputes among coalition members have overshadowed serving the public. We wake up every day to news of favoritism and lawlessness. Efforts to delay early elections are driven by interests opposed to public benefit,” he said.

Referring to the resignation of Hasan Tosunoğlu, Akansoy said the reason lies in the government’s lack of vision and inability to serve the public interest. “This cannot continue. The government’s actions are unacceptable, and its favoritism and infighting harm the public daily,” he added.

He further highlighted critical issues such as increasing budget deficits, deteriorating public services, and inflation caused by the government’s policies and failure to act. “Thanks to them, there’s no happiness left in this country. This chaos will inevitably lead to early elections,” he concluded.

Criticism of UBP and Relations with Turkey

Akansoy pointed to divisions within the National Unity Party (UBP), stating, “The UBP’s integrity and capacity to function were significantly damaged during the Parliament Speaker election. Their recent congress was nothing more than a PR exercise, which only deepened the party’s fragmentation.”

On relations with Turkey, Akansoy emphasized the need for mutual respect and equality, adding, “Turkey must respect the decisions of the Turkish Cypriot people for a healthy relationship. Using Cyprus as a domestic political tool in Turkey is a major problem.”

"CTP Will Revive the Country"

Criticizing President Ersin Tatar’s policies, Akansoy said, “Tatar’s stance outside UN Security Council resolutions is a historic mistake that isolated us internationally and left Turkish Cypriots ignored.”

Akansoy asserted that the CTP is the leading party in the country, stating, “Tufan Erhürman is the frontrunner for a possible presidential election. CTP will rebuild this country by ensuring fair distribution of resources, improving public healthcare and education, and creating a public transportation system.”

Calling for early elections, Akansoy concluded, “This enormous responsibility rests on our shoulders.”
