KAMUSEN Slams Statistics Institution: "Mocking the Public"
The Cyprus Turkish Public Servants’ Union (KAMUSEN) has strongly criticized the Statistics Institution's announcement of November’s cost of living figures, accusing it of “mocking the public.”
In a statement, KAMUSEN argued that no effort has been made to update the consumer price index to reflect current economic conditions. The union highlighted that the high cost of living in the TRNC is forcing residents to shop in the South, with authorities merely observing the situation without intervention.
Criticism of Government Leadership
The statement also targeted the government, saying, “The positions you hold demand seriousness and effort.” KAMUSEN accused the administration of neglecting the public's struggles and failing to take necessary measures to alleviate the growing financial burden on citizens.
The union called for urgent action to address the economic challenges and ensure that the Statistics Institution provides accurate data that reflects the realities faced by the public.
