7 Fires, 37 Emergency Incidents, Damages Total 687,000 TL
In the past week, seven fires and 37 emergency incidents occurred across the TRNC, resulting in total damages of 687,000 TL, according to a report by the Police General Directorate covering December 2-8.
The fires were primarily caused by electrical short circuits, chimney embers igniting wooden paneling, lightning strikes, and stove attachments on camping gas cylinders igniting nearby clothing.
Emergency incidents included the rescue of individuals trapped on balconies, in elevators, and in vehicles after traffic accidents. Firefighters also rescued animals, including pigeons, a dog, and cats, from precarious situations such as balconies, rooftops, swimming pools, and fences. Other services involved fire safety training, preventive measures, special assignments, and transporting deceased individuals to hospitals for forensic examinations.
