348 Drivers Reported for Traffic Violations
The police carried out traffic inspections across the country, resulting in 348 drivers being reported for various traffic violations. Of these, 19 were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, a total of 2,402 vehicles were checked, and 348 drivers were reported for different offenses. In addition, 45 vehicles were impounded, and 2 drivers were arrested.
Among the 348 drivers reported, 159 were cited for speeding, 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for driving without a license or insurance, 28 for using mobile phones while driving, and 6 for not wearing seat belts. Other violations included 25 drivers operating vehicles without registration, 11 without insurance, 2 who ignored traffic lights, 3 who violated truck driving hours, and 8 who did not comply with public service operation rules.
Additionally, 85 drivers were reported for other traffic violations.
