Rapper Reckol Arrested for Drug Possession

Famous rapper Reckol, whose real name is Recep Eker, has been arrested by the Omorfo Police Department for possession of illegal drugs and controlled medications.

Along with Lilian Khaled, Reckol was detained under charges of "Illegal Drug Acquisition and Possession" and "Violation of the Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Law." The two were brought before the Nicosia District Court today.

During the court proceedings, Officer Tutku Kızıltaş provided testimony detailing the events leading to the arrests. On December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:10 PM, police teams from the Criminal Investigation, Crime Prevention, and Traffic branches stopped a vehicle with license plate ZSD 106 on the Omorfo-Nicosia main road near Mevlevi Roundabout. Upon searching the driver, Lilian Khaled, police discovered approximately two grams of what is believed to be cannabis in the right pocket of his black jacket.

During the search of Reckol, a passenger in the vehicle, police found 17 Xanax pills and one Lyrica tablet, both of which are classified under controlled medications. Both suspects were arrested on the spot.

Police reported that the suspects' statements would be confirmed and verified. The drugs and their packaging have been sent for analysis, and further investigation will be conducted regarding the medications found in Reckol's possession. Reckol claimed that the prescription drugs were obtained in Turkey for his treatment.

In light of the investigation, Senior Judge Çiğdem Güzeler ruled that the suspects be held in custody for two days for questioning.
