Dinçyürek: HPV Vaccination Program to Begin in 2025
Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek announced the launch of the HPV vaccination program for the first time in 2025, as part of efforts to mark January as "Cervical Cancer Awareness Month."
In his statement, Minister Dinçyürek emphasized the significance of preventive healthcare, stating that the HPV vaccine will be introduced under the Ministry of Health and implemented routinely. He highlighted that cervical cancer is a preventable disease and underscored the importance of early detection and awareness.
"Cervical cancer occurs due to abnormal changes in the cells of the lower part of the uterus and is highly treatable if detected early," said Dinçyürek, stressing the need to encourage women to undergo regular health screenings.
"Early diagnosis and regular screenings are the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer. I urge our women to get regular Pap smear and HPV tests," he added.
