Stelios Foundation offers €410,000 to Boost Cyprus Bi-Communal Business Ties
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation has launched its 15th annual Bi-Communal Business Cooperation Awards, raising the total prize money to €410,000 to support business partnerships between Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs.
The 2025 competition will reward 10 bi-communal business teams, with prizes structured as follows:
- One Gold Award of €100,000
- Two Silver Awards of €50,000 each
- Seven Bronze Awards of €30,000 each
Applications open on January 2 and close on February 28, 2025. Eligible businesses must demonstrate an annual turnover of at least €10,000, employ at least one staff member, and provide evidence of cross-community operations.
In a press release, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyJet and the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, said: “Economic cooperation between the two communities in Cyprus is fundamental for building mutual understanding and trust, ultimately contributing to lasting peace on the island.”
The initiative has distributed €4.8 million in awards since its inception. Winners will be announced in April 2025, with the awards ceremony taking place at the Foundation’s headquarters in Nicosia.
Previous winners and candidates may reapply if they meet the criteria. Application forms are available on the Foundation’s website.
