In his written statement, Yalınkaya called for urgent action to address this issue and prevent further moral decay in society.

"Societal Decay Spans All Aspects of Life"

Highlighting the severity of the situation, Yalınkaya noted, “It is impossible not to feel deep concern for the future of our children after hearing such data. Even the phrase ‘children became parents’ is enough to make one’s hair stand on end.”

He stressed that societal decay is a widespread issue, extending from work life to family life, and from social life to private lives. “These figures about children becoming parents are the clearest evidence of this decay,” Yalınkaya added.

"Dirty Hands Must Be Removed and Held Accountable"

Yalınkaya placed responsibility on the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the Social Services Department, the government, and those claiming to govern the country. He stated, “Removing the dirty hands from our children and bringing them to justice is their responsibility.”

He also criticized misguided population policies and cultural erosion, saying, “The Turkish Cypriot community is being transformed through flawed population policies and cultural degradation. Every piece of news we hear and every statistic that surfaces shows how quickly this transformation is accelerating.”

Calling for an end to child exploitation, Yalınkaya emphasized the need to hold those responsible accountable. “We demand an immediate end to this disgrace, which constitutes child abuse, and we insist that those responsible face justice. As BES, we will closely follow this matter on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot community,” he concluded.
