According to a report by Sigmalive, Christodoulides recalled that the Greek Cypriot side had proposed two dates—January 20 or 21—for the meeting and was informed yesterday that it would take place on January 20.

“Aiming for a Positive Result for Both Sides”

In response to a question about the expectations surrounding the meeting, particularly given Tatar's insistence on opening the Haspolat crossing point, Christodoulides stated, “If we are truly interested in making progress, we should not make public statements daily.”

Reiterating his intention to achieve a positive outcome for both communities, Christodoulides acknowledged that it is natural for Tatar to have his expectations but noted that the Greek Cypriot side also has its own.

Christodoulides further stated that he would attend the meeting in the spirit of finding common ground and delivering results that would satisfy all Cypriots. He added, “I do not wish to say anything else.”
