Yılmaz: Turkish Cypriots Crowned Their Struggle for Freedom by Establishing the TRNC under Denktaş's Leadership
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz commemorated the 13th anniversary of the death of founding President Rauf Denktaş. Yılmaz remarked, "The Turkish Cypriot people, under Denktaş's leadership, crowned their struggle for freedom by establishing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus."
In a message shared on social media, Yılmaz stated:
"I commemorate with respect and mercy Rauf Denktaş, the Founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who dedicated his life to the struggle for the rights, freedom, and independence of the Turkish Cypriot people, on the 13th anniversary of his passing. Under Denktaş's leadership, the Turkish Cypriots crowned their fight for equality and freedom by founding the TRNC. His legacy will continue to live on in the honorable struggle for existence, as the Turkish Cypriot people work towards building a stronger future. May his soul rest in peace."
