Fake Diploma Case: Barış Sel's Hearing Postponed to January 21
The hearing for Barış Sel, who was arrested in March as part of the investigation into fake diplomas at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (KSTU), has been postponed to January 21.
Sel, the former police chief of Famagusta, was arrested last year on charges of obtaining a fake diploma and was released on bail pending trial.
Today, Sel appeared again before the Güzelyurt District Court for his first preliminary hearing. The court decided to postpone the hearing to Tuesday, January 21, to allow time for witnesses to testify.
Additionally, Serdal Gündüz, the university's general secretary and shareholder, who is also facing charges in the same case, appeared in court alongside Barış Sel. Gündüz will be present at all future hearings related to the fake diploma case.
