Fatal Workplace Accident: Halit Çeliksu Dies After Electrocution
Halit Çeliksu, a 42-year-old worker, lost his life after being electrocuted while performing maintenance work at the Geçitköy Dam Pumping Station.
According to the Police Press Office, the incident occurred yesterday around 2:00 PM at the facility in Geçitköy. Çeliksu sustained injuries, presumably from electric shock, while carrying out maintenance tasks.
He was rushed to Nicosia’s Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries despite all medical efforts.
The exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
