In its statement, the CTP highlighted the rising number of traffic accidents and fatalities, pointing out that seven people lost their lives in just one week. The party described the situation as a deep trauma for society. "Every morning brings a new nightmare. We do not want to sacrifice our people to unsafe roads and irresponsibility," the statement read.

"Government Silent and Indifferent"

The CTP accused the UBP-DP-YDP coalition government of failing to address traffic issues with urgency or foresight. "The government has neither conducted scientific studies on traffic nor implemented any future-oriented programs. The Traffic Emergency Action Plan remains unfulfilled. Human life cannot be this cheap," it stated.

"Focus on Traffic Safety, Not Risky Initiatives"

The party also criticized the decision to permit the import of left-hand-drive vehicles, warning that it would further compromise traffic safety. The CTP called on the government to abandon unplanned initiatives and instead work with experts to develop and implement a comprehensive Traffic Emergency Action Plan.

"An Alarming Average of 50 Fatal Accidents Annually"

The CTP pointed out that last year alone, 50 fatal accidents occurred, and this year’s statistics paint an even grimmer picture. On average, four people lose their lives in traffic accidents each month, underscoring the urgent need for safer roads.

A Call to Action

The CTP appealed to the public to remain vigilant about traffic issues and exercise caution on the roads. "We raise our voices and defend our right to live!" the statement concluded, reiterating its demand for the government to make traffic safety a top priority.
