Pirliyew is facing charges of causing death by reckless driving, speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, and careless driving.

Police Sergeant Ozan Avcı presented the case in court, detailing the events surrounding the incident. According to the police, on January 6, 2025, at approximately 3:40 AM, Pirliyew was driving a sedan with the license plate ET 678 at high speed and recklessly along the Nicosia-Famagusta main road, heading toward Famagusta. When approaching MFC Motors in Deriköy, he lost control of the steering wheel, veering off the road and rolling the vehicle three times. The crash resulted in the death of Furkat Bazarow at the scene.

Police further revealed that Pirliyew initially claimed to the officers that Furkat Bazarow was the driver, but approximately four hours later, he admitted to having been behind the wheel at the time of the accident. An alcohol test revealed Pirliyew's blood alcohol level to be 136 milligrams.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with camera footage expected to be examined. Police also took a blood sample from Pirliyew for drug testing, with the results still pending.

Four witness statements were obtained during the initial detention period, and the deceased’s cell phone was found at the crash site. It was sent to the PGM Data Analysis Unit for further investigation, as it may contain important evidence regarding the crash.

Police also noted that there was a speed camera located about 200 meters behind the crash site, and they will investigate whether Pirliyew passed through the camera. Additionally, it was discovered that the front license plate of the vehicle Pirliyew was driving was missing, which is also under investigation. During a medical check-up, it was found that Pirliyew has a prosthetic right eye and requires further examination. Given the ongoing investigations, police requested that he remain in custody for an additional 8 days to ensure a smooth investigation process.

Judge Nuray Necdet, after considering the testimony, ordered that Pirliyew remain in custody for 8 more days for the purposes of investigation.
