Speaking about the topics addressed in the meeting, Menelau stated that Christodoulides proposed opening the Piroi-Athienou (Gaziler-Kiracıköy) and Kokkina (Erenköy) crossing points, while Tatar suggested opening Mia Milia (Haspolat) and Louroujina (Akıncılar).

Menelau highlighted that the Greek Cypriot side adheres to the principle of reciprocity for any decisions made, and negotiators from both sides will work on these proposals to enable leaders to reach a final decision. He noted that the proposals are practically feasible, provided there is political will.

Christodoulides also suggested establishing crossing points instead of checkpoints to facilitate easier access to Nicosia. Menelau explained that this would eliminate the need for individuals to pass through multiple control points, which complicates free movement.

The two leaders agreed to hold their next meeting before UN official Rosemary DiCarlo's visit to the island. Menelau concluded, "Discussions have not ended, and efforts will continue. We will observe how developments unfold through meetings between negotiators and leaders."

Menelau also touched upon the Pile issue, claiming that the Turkish Cypriot side had backtracked on an agreement regarding the development zone.

Referring to the expansion works starting today on the Greek Cypriot side of the Ayios Demetios (Metehan) crossing point, he said that the portion of the works falling within the buffer zone would be overseen by the EU and UNDP through a tender process.
