Arıklı Responds to Taçoy: "He is Not Our Counterpart"

In a social media post, Arıklı addressed Taçoy’s remarks suggesting that YDP should leave the government, stating, “We are amused to observe the eagerness and excitement of some UBP MPs awaiting YDP’s decision to leave the government.”

Arıklı claimed that some UBP MPs are either hoping to assume the Transportation Ministry or expecting the government’s support to drop to 26 MPs, allowing them to pressure the Prime Minister for concessions.

“I’m not sure which of these groups Mr. Taçoy belongs to, nor am I interested. However, in response to Mr. Taçoy’s call for us to ‘leave if we’re going to leave and clear the path for the country,’ here is my reply: YDP does not see Mr. Taçoy as its counterpart but rather the Prime Minister. YDP deals directly with the Prime Minister, not individual MPs. We didn’t consult Mr. Taçoy when joining the coalition, and we won’t consult him if we decide to leave. That’s all,” Arıklı concluded.
