Onar and Menelau Expected to Meet Next Week
Special Representatives to Discuss New Crossing Points.
It is expected that Güneş Onar, the special representative of the presidency, and Menelaos Menelau, the negotiator for the Greek Cypriot side, will meet next week to discuss the opening of new crossing points. This follows the meeting between President Ersin Tatar and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides last Monday.
According to Haravgi newspaper, the issues raised during the meeting between President Tatar and President Christodoulides will be addressed by Onar and Menelau before another meeting between the two leaders takes place. The Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported that the Greek Cypriot side was ready for the meeting to take place this week, but the Turkish Cypriot side requested more time, and the meeting is likely to be held next week.
