1,461 Drivers Fined in Traffic Inspections

In security inspections, one person found to be illegal was arrested, and legal action was taken against 93 people who were prohibited from being in the casino. In traffic inspections where 6,469 drivers were checked nationwide, 1,461 drivers were fined, 165 vehicles were banned from traffic, and 2 drivers were arrested. Of the reported drivers, 611 were fined for speeding.

Simultaneous security and traffic inspections were carried out last night and this morning in the areas under the responsibility of the Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, and İskele Police Departments.

NICOSIA

In Nicosia, inspections were carried out in entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, nightclubs, coffeehouses, and places where people gather intensively. One person found to be illegal in the country was arrested.

In casino inspections, a total of 7 people prohibited from entering the casino were identified, and legal action was taken against them.

In traffic inspections, 1,112 drivers were checked, 551 drivers were fined for various traffic offenses, 103 vehicles were banned from traffic, and 1 driver was arrested. Of the reported drivers, 207 were fined for driving over the legal speed limit, 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 3 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 36 for using a mobile phone while driving, 81 for driving without wearing a seat belt, 72 for driving without a vehicle license, 9 for driving without insurance, and 132 for other traffic offenses.

FAMAGUSTA

In Famagusta, no negative incidents were detected during inspections of entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, cafes, nightclubs, coffeehouses, and places where people gather intensively.

In casino inspections, 31 people prohibited from entering the casino were identified, and legal action was taken against them.

In inspections conducted by Traffic Teams, 1,250 drivers were checked, 287 drivers were fined for various traffic offenses, and 1 vehicle was banned from traffic. Of the fined drivers, 103 were fined for driving over the legal speed limit, 1 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 15 for using a mobile phone while driving, 21 for driving without a vehicle license, 3 for driving without insurance, 1 for dangerous driving, and 143 for other traffic offenses.

KYRENIA

In Kyrenia, no negative incidents were detected during inspections of entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, and places where people gather intensively.

In casino inspections, 31 people prohibited from being in the casino were identified, and legal action was taken against them.

In traffic inspections, 2,085 drivers were checked; legal action was initiated against 288 drivers, 29 vehicles were banned from traffic. Of the reported drivers, 105 were fined for speeding, 10 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 4 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 7 for using a mobile phone while driving, 6 for driving without wearing a seat belt, 23 for driving without insurance, 5 for not complying with public transport operating permit rules, and 128 for other traffic offenses.

GÜZELYURT

In Güzelyurt, no negative incidents were detected during inspections of entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, betting houses, coffeehouses, and places where people gather intensively.

In inspections conducted by Traffic Teams, 622 drivers were checked, 92 drivers were fined for various traffic offenses, and 1 vehicle was banned from traffic. Of the reported drivers, 62 were fined for speeding, 1 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 1 for using a mobile phone while driving, 6 for driving without wearing a seat belt, 2 for driving without insurance, and 1 for not obeying traffic lights.

İSKELE

In İskele, no negative incidents were detected during inspections of entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, and places where people gather intensively.

In casino inspections, legal action was taken against 24 people prohibited from being in the casino.

In traffic inspections, 1,400 drivers were checked; 243 drivers were fined for various traffic offenses, 31 vehicles were banned from traffic, and 1 driver was arrested.

Of the fined drivers, 134 were fined for driving over the legal speed limit, 5 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 4 for driving without a driving license and insurance, 8 for using a mobile phone while driving, 2 for driving without wearing a seat belt, 23 for driving without a vehicle license, 4 for driving without insurance, and 63 for other traffic offenses.
